Roving Frame
Model RF-1000
The Roving Frame (or Speed Frame) is the machine that follows the Draw Frame and precedes the Ring Spinning Machine. Its dual primary functions are to:
- Attenuate (Draft) the sliver from the Draw Frame down to a much finer roving (a thick, slightly twisted strand of fibers).
- Impart a minimal amount of twist to the roving to give it just enough tensile strength to be wound onto a
- package (bobbin) and successfully unwound later at the Ring Frame.
This machine converts bulky, untwisted sliver into a manageable, lightly twisted package of roving suitable for the final spinning process
Key Benefits
- Preparation for Spinning: It reduces the thick sliver into a finer, more manageable roving suitable for the high drafts of the Ring Spinning Machine.
- Imparts Minimal Strength: The low level of Twist ($45-260 \text{ T/m}$) allows the roving to be wound and unwound without breaking, which is necessary for the next process.
- Package Formation: It winds the roving onto bobbins of a specific size and shape, creating the ideal feed package for the ring frame.
- Uniform Input: It further improves the short-term uniformity of the material, ensuring a steady, consistent feed to produce high-quality final yarn.
